All students must submit an application to attend Harford Community College. It only takes a few minutes to complete and there is no application fee. If you need to pause while filling it out, everything will save and you can return to it later.

Although most students will complete the standard application, there are specific requirements for students who fall into one of the categories listed below. If you are one of those students, follow the linked instructions before you begin.

The following information is needed to complete your application:

  • Social Security Number or ITIN (Individual Tax Identification Number)
  • Personal Contact Information (phone, email, mailing address)
  • Emergency Contact Information
  • Intended Program of Study

Once you submit your application, you can expect to receive an electronic acceptance letter, typically within a week, via the personal email address you provided on the application.

After You've Received Your Acceptance Letter

Now that you've been accepted, take time to congratulate yourself for all you've done to get to this point. It's a big accomplishment! This is the time to explore our programs, apply for financial aid, learn about the various ways courses are offered, and consider all of your options. Once you are ready to enroll, the following will need to be completed:

  • Set up your OwlNet and OwlMail accounts
  • Contact your school counselor to have your transcripts sent to Harford. Once that is done, wait 5 business days and email to confirm receipt of transcripts and discuss whether there is a need for placement testing.
  • Placement Testing (if needed)

Once you have completed your application, set up your accounts, your transcripts have been received, and you have completed placement testing (if needed), you will again email to set up a meeting with an advisor and register for classes.
