Harford Community College is set to launch a Heavy Equipment Operations certificate program in March 2017. The program was developed with input from the local construction and heavy equipment industries and will cover topics of equipment use and maintenance, safety, site work, and soils. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment of construction equipment operators is projected to grow 10% until 2024, faster than the average growth for all occupations.
