Harford Community College Head Men's Basketball Coach Mike Smelkinson, assistant coaches and players participated in the Annual Word of Faith International Outreach Christmas Benefit in Aberdeen.

Over 900 families in need received toys, clothes and food in time for the holiday season.

In the past, the team has also volunteered at Harford Family House and Harford Community Action Agency Food Pantry, while also donating used team uniforms to the Aberdeen High School basketball team and Aberdeen Boys and Girls Club.

"We were so blessed to have the HCC men's team assist with our Christmas benefit," said benefit leader Angela Peaker. "Seeing them help some of the families with selecting their items was truly impactful. Some of the team members were amazed to see the 8,600 pounds of food that they carried from the drop off point to the distribution area disappear so quickly. We appreciate the team and their coaches for assisting to serve over 900 people at our Christmas benefit."
