The Susquehanna Workforce Innovation Partnership recently announced that Pamela Karwowski, Director for Government, Contractor and IT Training at Harford Community College, was one of their 2020 WIOA Five-Star awardees. The Five-Star Award is an annual recognition of people in Harford and Cecil Counties who make important and significant contributions to the Susquehanna workforce system. The award is sponsored by the Susquehanna Workforce Innovation Partnership. Pam was nominated for her outstanding collaboration and service to the community, specifically for her work to deliver the IT/cyber training program and not letting a global pandemic deter her in providing this resource.

A virtual award ceremony will be held on Monday, July 27 at 10 a.m. Harford County Executive Barry Glassman will be participating in the ceremony.

The Susquehanna Workforce Innovation Partnership is a cohort of local, state, and nonprofit agencies whose vision is to increase the earning capacity of Harford and Cecil County residents by maximizing access to employment, skills and credentialing, life management skills, and supportive services. Together, the cohort provides job seekers a suite of support services so they possess skills for businesses and enterprises to compete in the local, regional, and global economies. The WIOA Five-Star Awards recognize those who exemplify the spirit of collaboration and community service.
