Physical Therapy

As a physical therapy technician, you will work under the supervision of physical therapists and physical therapy assistants as a part of the rehabilitation team.


According to the Occupational Outlook Handbook, the 2016 median pay for a Physical Therapy Technician was $25,680 per year. Employment is expected to grow 40% from 2014-2024, faster than the national average.

Requirements:

  • Must be 18 years of age and have a high school diploma or GED
  • Reading (ACR) and Math (ACA) Assessments; available at the Test Center
  • Health Assessment, including immunization record (due prior to externship placement)

First Set of Courses (completed in any order):

  • Bloodborne Pathogens (online course offered by the American Heart Association)
  • Computer Basics for Allied Health
  • HIPAA Compliance (online course)
  • Healthcare Provider CPR certification

Career Courses:

  • Become a Physical Therapy Aide (online course)
  • Physical Therapy Technician Externship
    (The Clinical Coordinator arranges start date and placement with each student. Evening and weekend hours not available.)

Approximate cost of the program is $1,135, not including textbooks.
