New Software:
SoftChalk LessonBuilder™ is a powerful web lesson editor
that lets you easily create engaging, interactive web lessons for your classroom
or staff training. Units can be uploaded into Blackboard/WebCT, placed on your
faculty website or linked in Course Studio. Learn how to create
professional‐looking, interactive content without knowing any HTML, or
programming. For an overview, contact your division’ IRC instructional designer
or Christel Vonderscheer. Software is
available in the IRC; workshops on how to build content will be held throughout
the semester.
New Video Clip Repository
The IRC has a campus wide subscription to Intelecom Online
Resources Network, a searchable repository of video clips for online, hybrid,
web‐enhanced and F2F classroom formats. The video clips cover a wide array of
disciplines. They can be embedded into Blackboard/WebCT, linked in Course Studio
or shown in the F2F classroom. The repository is also available to students and
will appear on the HCC library webpage. To access, visit

The IRC has been established through the collaborative efforts of
the Office of the Vice President for Instruction and the Department of
e-Learning and Instructional Resources. The IRC provides instructional resources and pedagogical assistance
in the areas of professional development, student learning outcomes and assessment, and educational technology. The mission of the IRC is to
provide instructional support for faculty and instructional staff through workshops, conference
announcements, professional publications, and individual
consultation. The success of the IRC depends on the input and support of
our faculty and staff. Your comments and suggestions are welcomed.
If you have questions or would like to
schedule an individual consultation, contact us at
