Our Mission:

The Learning Center assists students with course content by promoting learning strategies and study skills to help students become lifelong learners.

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Learning Center is providing remote services.

Types of sessions provided by the Learning Center during the COVID-19 closure:

  • Remote Drop-In Sessions– Learning assistants are available to assist students on a drop-in basis. Sessions are remote via Microsoft Teams. CLICK HERE to book your drop-in session with a learning assistant. Select the desired course and choose the time that works for you. Students will receive an email verification with a Teams link to join the session. If you do not see a time that meets your needs, contact the Learning Center for assistance.
  • Individual Remote Sessions– Available for students demonstrating academic need. An appointment is needed to meet with the Student Success Specialist to complete a Success Plan and determine eligibility to receive this service. Please CLICK HERE to complete your request to be considered for individual learning assistance. After submitting the form, the Student Success Specialist will contact you to schedule a meeting to develop your Student Success Plan and to discuss your learning request. Success Plan meetings and individual sessions are remote via Microsoft Teams.
  • Online learning assistance (NetTutor)NetTutor, our online tutoring service, is a valuable support for content questions and study strategies for your courses. Please CLICK HERE to request a NetTutor account.
International Tutor Training Program Certification

Before attending your remote session, please be aware of the following:

  • Learning assistants are not instructors and do not teach course content; instead, they facilitate the learning process by guiding students through content material, while promoting learning strategies and study skills.
  • Students should come prepared to sessions with attempted work on assignments/projects and specific questions to work through.
  • If you need to cancel or reschedule a booked session, reach out to the Learning Center, preferably 24 hours in advance, to avoid restrictions on future sessions.

Please bring to the remote learning session:

  • Course textbook and notes
  • Course assignment and related content
  • Specific questions for the session
  • Copy of draft (if speech or paper)
  • Record sheet (if applicable)
