4Financial Internship Program

Four Financial Services Companies are providing an opportunity for HCC students and alumni to explore four areas of the financial services industry, while gaining a full-year of full-time paid experience.

It is a well-known fact that experience is needed to get a professional level job. This unique internship opportunity will allow students to work as a full-time temporary employee and gain experience in four different areas of the financial services industry.  After completion, a student can expect to have a major selling point for their résumé, as well as a better understanding of careers in five different industries that work within financial services (Real Estate, CPA, CFP- Certified Financial Planner, Banking, and Insurance).


All current students and alumni who have graduated within the last academic year from any degree program are welcome to apply.  The following criteria are recommended:

  • An interest in gaining a deeper understanding of the possibilities of work in financial services.
  • Anticipated or completed graduation from HCC by August 2020
    Student's having 12 credits or less remaining to complete their degree that can be completed online or in the evening can apply and should address in their cover letter how they plan on managing both work and school.
  • 3.0 GPA or higher
    If a student has less than a 3.0, but more than a 2.0, they should address the reason for the lower GPA in their cover letter.
  • Participating in IBAT’s Workforce Excellence Seminar series is strongly encouraged. This free program helps you to improve those essential skills employers are seeking in the workforce.”

Steps to Apply

Students and Alums who have graduated within the past academic year can apply through HCC Career Connect between April 6 and May 8, 2020. There are 2 parts to applying to the internship:

Step 1: Set up or Log into HCC Career Connect Account

Step 2: Upload your documents including cover letter or letter of Explanation

Step 3: Apply to the position on HCC Career Connect

Additional Details:

  • Interviews will be conducted off-campus at the end of June 2020.
  • Salary: $15/hour with up to 3 days paid leave per quarter, assuming full time work schedule.
  • Students are responsible for their own health insurance
