Transfer Services

Successful transfer begins with careful planning.

Students can choose courses each semester that will satisfy the completion requirements of both an Associates degree plan and that of the intended Maryland four-year college or university.  It is recommended that students meet with assigned advisors regularly throughout the transfer planning process

Transfer Planning Information and Resources:

  • HCC - Towson University Northeast Partnership - work with an academic advisor to complete a "2 + 2" in one of 8 available Associate to Bachelors degree programs.
  • ARTSYS (The Articulation System) - a computerized transfer articulation system which provides search for majors, course equivalencies, and recommended transfer programs between HCC and the University System of Maryland.
  • Articulation Agreements - Harford Community College has developed several articulation agreements with four-year colleges and other higher education institutions. The agreement confirms the acceptance of transfer credits from HCC. Students complete the designated degree at HCC and then transfer seamlessly to the colleges and universities listed.
  • Reverse Transfer - Academic credits for course work completed at a 4-year institution may be transferred back to Harford Community College to satisfy the requirements to complete an associate's degree.
  • Transfer fairs are held each fall and spring semester with 35+ in and out of state colleges and universities in attendance.  Students are also encouraged to visit potential transfer schools, and talk to transfer/admission representatives who frequently visit our campus.
