Vice President of Academic Affairs

Harford Community College is pleased to announce that Dr. Timothy Sherwood has been named the next Vice President for Academic Affairs.


In this role, Dr. Sherwood will serve as Chief Academic Officer, overseeing and directing all functions related to learning outcomes for students, and serving as an advocate for faculty and a steward of the College's mission, vision, and values.

Dr. Sherwood comes to HCC from Oakland Community College in Michigan, where he began as Dean of Mathematics and Sciences and currently serves as Associate Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs. He holds a PhD in chemistry from the University of Delaware and taught for 22 years, first at Arkansas Tech University and later at Westminster College in Pennsylvania.

Dr. Sherwood will begin at HCC in early 2020.
