About
Brian R. Lazarus has decades of experience teaching Accounting and Business, both in an online and traditional classroom format in addition to professional experience in various levels of accounting, management, and entrepreneurship. He previously served in various management positions including Controller and Director of Accounting. Additionally, he consulted with businesses both nationally and internationally, and managed his own consulting practice.
Lazarus was honored multiple times for his student-centric focus and excellence in teaching and advising, and was awarded the prestigious NISOD Excellence Award. His passion for teaching and prior service to the citizens of Baltimore resulted in receiving citations from the Mayor and Comptroller of Baltimore City. The Comptroller’s citation in part read, ‘With tenacity, integrity and diligence, you have demonstrated exceptional skills that have benefited the city and helped to improve the quality of life for the citizens of Baltimore.” His commitment to student success is evident through his organization of the Business & Technology Division Career Day and an on-campus mentoring initiative, each adding to the students’ learning experiences.
An online Accounting course, designed by Lazarus, earned the distinguished QM (Quality Matters) certification. Quality Matters is a global organization recognizing and ensuring quality and innovation in online and digital teaching.
