Open House at Harford Community College October 1

Harford Community College will hold an Open House for prospective students of all ages and interests on Saturday, October 1 from 10 AM to 1 PM. Family members are also welcome to attend. Check-in is at 10 AM in the Student Center. Visiting the Open House will help participants discover everything they need to start at Harford.
The Open House will highlight the College’s 90+ exceptional degree and workforce programs as well as many of the extracurricular activities and services offered at Harford. Learn how to save money by applying for Harford’s many scholarships and grants, be introduced to life on campus (including clubs, activities, and athletics), and meet with the Admissions team to discuss becoming a future Fighting Owl!
During the day, learn about opportunities for research, internships, and networking; talk to deans, faculty and current students about programs, services, and campus life; and see firsthand how Harford’s facilities rival some of the best four-year universities.
Below is a schedule of events taking place during the Open House:
10-10:40 AM (Student Center) - Check-in/Application Completion
After checking-in and completing an admission application, mingle with current students, faculty and staff. Harford’s radio station, WHFC 91.1, will be on hand and attendees may participate in various activities including photo mirror, 360 photo, meeting Screech (Harford’s mascot), and a raffle for tuition grant giveaway.
10:50-11:50 AM (Academic Buildings) - Academic Showcase
Student volunteers will direct attendees to their academic areas of interest, where there will be a variety of presentations.
Arts & Humanities – Havre de Grace Hall (Upper Level – Rooms 206, 207, 208, 209)
Behavioral & Social Sciences – Bel Air Hall (Upper Level – Rooms 243, 242, 241, 240)
Business & Applied Technology – Bel Air Hall (Upper Level – Rooms 234, 233, 228, 227)
Career & Workforce – Student Center (Upper Level – Room 243; Upper Level Lobby area)
Nursing & Allied Health – Aberdeen Hall (Mid-Level – Rooms 254, 255, 252; Lobby area)
Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) – Aberdeen Hall (Mid-Level – Rooms 228, 224, 226; Lobby area; labs available except 230 and 256)
Community Education classes, Youth offerings, Travel opportunities, and GED® and Adult Literacy program presentations will also be available in the Student Center.
Student Services Review (Student Center, Globe Café) – 12-12:30 PM
Attendees will hear from representatives from Financial Aid, Advising, Career, & Transfer Services, the Honors Program, and Student Life.
Check-out/Assorted Activities/Lunch (Student Center) – 12:30-1 PM
Enjoy tailgate food options; mingle with administrators, faculty, staff and current students; participate in various activities. During this time, raffle winners for tuition grants will be announced. Attendees will pick up an acceptance packet and t-shirt. Admissions staff will be available to answer any questions about the next steps to enrollment.
