Dr. Andrée Mountain-Campbell and Allison Cuneo Honored as ATHENA Award Recipients

Dr. Andrée M. Mountain-Campbell, Founder and Director of MOHAR Mental Wellness, LLC, received the 2023 ATHENA Leadership Award, and Allison Cuneo, Contract Specialist at Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, received the 2023 ATHENA Young Professional Leadership Award on March 3 at the Richlin Ballroom in Edgewood, Maryland.
Presented by Harford Mutual Insurance Group, the ATHENA Leadership Award Breakfast is hosted each year by the Harford Community College Foundation, Inc. The award is intended to recognize leaders who demonstrate excellence in assisting women in leadership, professional accomplishment, and service to the community.
Dr. Andrèe M. Mountain-Campbell began her professional career when she was commissioned as a United States Army Officer in the Adjutant General Corps. As an Army veteran, Dr. Mountain-Campbell has continued to serve the U.S. military as an IT Specialist and Supply Management Specialist, culminating in her current role as a Logistics Management Specialist for the U.S. Army Test and Evaluation Command at Aberdeen Proving Ground. She has served as Chair of the Harford County Department of Social Services Advisory Board and is the current President of Federally Employed Women Maryland Tri-County Chapter, and the National Coalition of 100 Black Women, Inc. Anne Arundel County Chapter. Dr. Mountain-Campbell’s charitable work with Welcome One led to the establishment of a sheltering program through MOHAR Mental Wellness, LLC to house formerly homeless women, men and middle school-aged children. She recently implemented a mentoring program in Edgewood for six resident women, which consisted of teaching life and coping skills, anger management, assertiveness, and parenting skills. She has been a recipient of a State of Maryland Governor’s Citation, Achievement Medal for Civilian Service, and the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Drum Award for Anne Arundel County, among many other accolades.
Allison Cuneo has gained leadership experience in multiple fields throughout the course of her career. She began working for a small women-owned business in Baltimore, where she served as a manager, community outreach coordinator, and program director. She then transitioned to a career at her alma mater, Stevenson University, where she served in a series of roles with increasing responsibility. In her role as Assistant Vice President for Annual Giving and Alumni Relations within the Office of University Advancement, Allison consistently exceeded annual fund goals and worked to strengthen their alumni network through engagement and philanthropy. Allison transitioned to her current role as Contract Specialist at Centers for with Medicare & Medicaid Services last fall, and is excited to be utilizing her skills, experience, and passion in a new professional arena. She has served on the Stevenson University Supervisor’s Roundtable and Diversity and Inclusion Committee and has mentored students through their Partnerships and Student Success Program. Allison is a member of the Women’s Giving Circle of Harford County’s Membership and Outreach Committee. She has volunteered with LUNGevity Foundation, Mission: I’m Home, the St. Bernard Project, Santa’s Helper’s Anonymous, and the Salvation Army, among others. Allison has been awarded the Orsia F. Young Leadership Award and is a graduate of the National Coalition Building Institute Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Workshop.

The breakfast event proceeds fund ATHENA Leadership Scholarships. This year eight scholarships were awarded to deserving Harford Community College students as well as one Emerging Leadership Program Scholarship. Julia Dietz addressed the audience, detailing her positive experiences at Harford Community College and the impact that learning leadership skills has had on her education.
