An Evening of Jazz at Harford Community College

Join us for An Evening of Jazz on Friday, October 6 at 8 PM in Joppa Hall, Recital Hall #1 at Harford Community College.

The 2023-24 Evening of Jazz series opens with Blake Meister, a Baltimore-based bassist whose music has been described by Giovanni Russonello, co-founder of CapitalBop and music writer for the New York Times, as having “ . . . wit, soul, and an organic-sounding complexity that only a master can pull off.” Blake started out playing electric bass, and he entered college with virtually no experience on the double bass. Since then, Meister has gone on to receive several Governor’s Citations from Maryland, garnering three Individual Artist Awards from the Maryland State Arts Council.
