Harford Community College Holds Medical Assisting Completion Ceremony

Harford Community College held a Completion Ceremony for graduates of the 2024 Medical Assisting Program on May 17 in Darlington Hall. Six students completed 160 hours of training in physicians’ offices across Harford County after completing coursework for their Medical Assisting Certification and Associate of Applied Science degrees.

Dean of Nursing and Allied Health Professions Ashley Meisel, DNP, RN,  welcomed the graduates and their guests to the event. Brittany Arkins, MA, CMA, and Program Director for Medical Assisting, presented pins to the graduates.

Spring 2024 graduates included Meleney Baublitz, Merri Leonard, Emma Lochotzki, Kayla Pacifici, Tori Stansbury, and Karmen Tucker.

Arkins lauded the completers, saying, "The spring 2024 graduating class of Medical Assisting students have displayed wonderful qualities such as compassion, determination, and perseverance. Despite life’s challenges, combined with that of academia, these students have completed their studies in medical assisting. Through multiple courses and a 160-hour practicum, this group of students has shown that they are ready to provide the best care to Harford patients as they begin their future careers at several locations across the county.”
