Harford Youth Orchestra and Harford String Orchestra Announce Fall Auditions

The Harford Youth Orchestra (HYO) and Harford String Orchestra (HSO) will be holding fall auditions on Saturday, August 24 by appointment only. Open to students in grades 6-12 who are serious about music and want to perform at a high level, HYO and HSO provide a great learning experience for string, wind, and percussion students who live in Harford County. Activities focus on developing skills and ultimately lead to public performances in the fall and spring.
Membership in the Harford Youth Orchestra is open to all high school (grades 9-12) string, wind, and percussion students currently enrolled in their school orchestra program, if available. Brian Folus is the HYO Conductor. Email Conductor to request an appointment.
Membership in the Harford String Orchestra is open to all middle school (grades 6-8) string students currently enrolled in their school orchestra program, if available. Students younger than 6th grade who have studied their instrument for at least three years are also encouraged to audition for the HSO. Anne Pape is the HSO Conductor. Email Conductor to request an appointment.
A fall concert will be held on Saturday, November 23 at 1 PM at the Amoss Center at Harford Technical High School in Bel Air. The concert is free and open to the public. The orchestras are celebrating their 25th anniversary this school year.
