Ribbon-Cutting for Owl’s Nest at Harford Community College

03 September 2024

More than 100 students recently attended a ribbon-cutting for the Owl’s Nest, a new recreation area in the Student Center on the campus of Harford Community College. Dr. Theresa B. Felder, Harford Community College President; members of the President’s Staff; and the Office of Student Life team also attended the event.

The Owl’s Nest, a new reimagined space, was created to enhance the College experience for Harford students. The Owl’s Nest provides a place where students can hang out and spend time with friends between classes, helping to build a sense of community and a connection to campus.

New recreation equipment purchased for the Owl’s Nest includes an air hockey table, ping pong table, arcade machine, pool table, pinball machine, mini basketball machine, multi-sport simulator, foosball table, and shuffleboard. The Office of Student Life provided most of the funding for the Owl’s Nest.

The Student Government Association purchased a claw machine that is filled with Harford Community College branded prizes and really cool gifts. Faculty, staff, students and community members are welcome to use the machine, which costs $1 to play. 100% of the funds from the claw machine are donated directly to the Harford Community College Foundation to help students in need. This provides an easy way to give back while having fun.
