Cambridge, MD

Register by October 5 for this guided tour of Cambridge, Maryland, where Araminta Ross lived and worked until age 27 when she escaped to freedom. Begin the day learning about her early years and visit her childhood home, the Bucktown General Store, the Courthouse, and Long Wharf. There will be time for photos in front of the Take My Hand mural before visiting the Stanley Institute and the Harriet Tubman Underground Railroad Visitor Center. Finish the day with an all-you-can-eat crab feast. The fee includes round-trip transportation aboard a motor coach, a guided 4½ hour tour, admission tickets and lunch.

Gettysburg, PA

The Gettysburg Visitor Center is rich in resources and history about the Battle of Gettysburg and the Civil War. A trio of activities will fill the morning as participants learn about the conflict from beginning to end as well as the terrible aftermath. View the film “A New Birth of Freedom,” visit the Battle of Gettysburg Cyclorama painting, and explore the Gettysburg Museum of American Civil War. There will be time for lunch on your own in the Visitor Center or a visit to the gift shop. Fees include round-trip transportation aboard a motor coach, film, cyclorama, and museum admission. All meals are on your own.
