Harford Community College Awarded Grant for Performing Arts

Harford Community College in Bel Air, Maryland has received funding from the Harford County Cultural Arts Board to support events to be held at the Aberdeen Proving Ground Federal Credit Union Arena at Harford Community College and the Amoss Center.
The Harford County Cultural Arts Board awarded the College $7,450 for Cultural Events and Performing Arts to entertain and inspire individuals to engage, learn and grow. This funding will assist the College with presenting diverse professional touring companies of recognized artistic merit and with producing community musical theater and dance performances through the Phoenix Festival Theater and Harford Dance Theatre organizations.
The Harford County Cultural Arts Advisory Board defines itself as the primary local resource for arts organizations, independent artists, and the audiences of Harford County, Maryland. The government-appointed board provides grant opportunities, advocacy and administrative support; sponsors workshops, events, and promotional opportunities; and encourages and invests in the advancement of the arts for the community. The Board was founded in 1973, and works to “Preserve, Enhance, and Promote the Culture of Harford County, Maryland." Since 2015, the Board has operated under the auspices of the Harford County Public Library Board of Trustees.
Funding for this grant is made possible through a County Arts Development grant from the Maryland State Arts Council.
