Phoenix Festival Theater to Hold Auditions for Shrek the Musical

Phoenix Festival Theater (PFT) is holding auditions for Shrek the Musical on December 9 and 10 from 6:30 to 9:30 PM in the Susquehanna Center, Room 216 (Auxiliary Gym) at Harford Community College. Performance dates are March 14-16, 2025.
PFT is seeking diverse, energetic actors and actresses for the cast. Auditions are open to members of the public who will be 18 years of age or older by the performance opening date. All performers must be available and attend all tech week (March 8-13, 2025) rehearsals and show dates.

Additional audition requirements are listed below:
- Please arrive 15 minutes early if you did not complete the audition form online.
- Bring your calendar and provide a complete list of your scheduling conflicts from January 6 - March 16, 2025.
- Prepare 32 bars (about 1 minute) of a song in the style of the show, or a song from the show.
- Please bring a backing track. There will be a device to play your accompaniment. An accompanist will NOT be provided.
- Please dress comfortably and be ready to learn and perform a basic dance combination.
- You may be asked to read a side from the script. It will be provided at the audition.
We will be accepting audition video submissions for young Shrek, young Fiona, and teen Fiona for this production. The video should be 32 bars (about 1 minute) of a song in the style of the show, or a song from the show. Email video to Beverly Whaley at bwhaley@harford.edu, no later than 5 PM on December 9. These roles will be double cast. Each actor will have two performances in the above roles and two ensemble performances.
The cast list will come out on or before December 14.
Rehearsals will begin the week of January 6 as an introductory meeting and read through.
