Harford Youth Orchestra and Harford String Orchestra Present Spring Concert

The Harford Youth Orchestra and Harford String Orchestra will present a concert on
Saturday, April 5, 1-3 PM, at Edgewood High School, 2415 Willoughby Beach Road. Hosted
by Harford Community College, the annual spring concert is free and open to the public.
The Harford Youth Orchestra, under the direction of Mr. Brian Folus, will present works by Suppé, Corigliano, Holst, and Gershwin. Joining the HYO for this special concert event will be HYO alumni who are now members of the Susquehanna Symphony Orchestra.
Harford String Orchestra, under the direction of Ms. Anne Pape, will present works by Boyce, Fauré, Anderson, and other string orchestral works. The concert will also include the premier of an arrangement by Dennis Hertzog of ’Round Midnight by Thelonious Monk, featuring the combined strings of both orchestras and a surprise cello feature.
The Harford Youth Orchestra is open to all high school (9-12 grade) string, wind, and percussion students currently enrolled in their school orchestra program. The Harford String Orchestra is open to all middle school (6-8 grade) string students currently enrolled in their school orchestra program. Students younger than 6th grade who have studied their instrument for at least three years are encouraged to audition for the HSO. Additional information is available here.
The Harford Youth Orchestra and Harford String Orchestra are celebrating their 25th anniversary this year! All are welcome to join the celebration and attend this free concert to support Harford County’s finest young musicians.
