Harford alumnus Michael Smith was appointed to the College’s Board of Trustees by Governor Wes Moore to serve as an at-large representative through June 30, 2027. He was sworn in by the Clerk of the Court in Bel Air earlier this month.

The Chesapeake Gallery will host a new exhibit, “Afterimage,” by Philadelphia-based artist Hanna Vogel, who makes sculptures and installation works. It will run through November 2 in the gallery in the Student Center, second floor.

Harford hosted 15 local high school students for its innovative grant-supported BIOTECH Pathways Summer Institute, where they gained biotechnology skills and a more holistic understanding of potential biotechnology career opportunities.
The Maryland Department of Labor awarded Harford a $491,228 grant to fund our Adult Literacy program, allowing the College to instruct 457 students in English as a Second Language, Adult Basic Education, and Pre-GED® and GED® classes.
The National Science Foundation and National Security Agency recently awarded Harford a grant for its “GenCyber Smart Camp,” a one-week cybersecurity day camp to increase students’ interest in cybersecurity and cyber engineering next summer.
