Welding Certification

A career in welding is for those who are detail oriented, have physical strength, and manual dexterity. It takes both skill and practice to become proficient in this field.  

PROGRAM OVERVIEW
The Welding Certification program introduces students to the basic skills, equipment, and accessories of welding. Students learn safety practices and welding symbols, and gain hands-on experience. Program covers: Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW or MIG), Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW or TIG), Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW or Stick), Flux Cored Arc Welding (FCAW, and Oxyfuel Cutting (OFC).

COURSES REQUIRED TO COMPLETE PROGRAM:
IA 1237 Arc Welding Fundamentals
IA 1247 Intermediate Welding

TIME NEEDED TO COMPLETE PROGRAM:
as little as 12 weeks

CREDENTIAL(S) EARNED:
Welding Certification
AWS D1.1 Structural Welding Certification

What can I do when I complete this program?

Students completing Harford's Welding Certification program are trained to begin working on job sites where welding is required. They may continue to earn certifications to advance their careers, perform more complex welding jobs, or specialize in a specific are of welding.
