GenCYBER Camp

GenCyber Camp is returning to Harford for Summer 2025.

APPLICATION DEADLINE: April 1, 2025

GenCyber Camps are grant-funded programs cosponsored by the National Security Agency (NSA) and National 
Science Foundation (NSF). Harford has been awarded the GenCyber Camp grant annually since 2019. GenCyber 
Camps provide no-cost cybersecurity experiences for campers and their program goals are to:

  • Ignite, sustain, and increase awareness of K-12 cybersecurity content and cybersecurity postsecondary and 
    career opportunities for participants through year-round engagement.
  • Increase student diversity in cybersecurity college and career readiness pathways at the K-12 level.

Campers who attend a GenCyber Camp at Harford will code iRoot robots, fly mini drones, create a security ID 
badge, program using Arduino or Raspberry Pi, study ethical hacking and so much more! Campers will engage in 
hands-on activities and projects throughout the camp week all focused on cybersecurity concepts.

What You Need to Know:

  • Two one-week sessions available: JUL 7–11 & AUG 4–8 | 9 AM–4 PM . Students can apply to attend one or 
    both sessions.
  • Applications are open to rising 7th, 8th and 9th grade (ages 11–15) students in Harford County.
  • GenCyber Camp is a no cost opportunity for those accepted into the camp.
  • Harford will begin accepting applications to attend GenCyber Camps on January 13th. Applications must be 
    submitted via Camp Curiosity’s Online Registration Portal by April 1st.
  • The top 30 applicants will be selected to attend and notified in May 2025.
  • In addition to an application, applicants must also submit a letter of recommendation, their most recent report card or grade report and a personal essay. Details about additional requirements are available within Camp Curiosity’s online registration portal.
  • Free lunch and snacks are provided. Campers can bring their own food if desired. A lunch menu will be 
    shared the week before camp begins.
  • Harford’s GenCyber Camps occur on the College campus and transportation is NOT provided.
  • Before and After Care are also available at no cost from 7:30–8:50 AM and 4–5:30 PM.
