The Summer 2024 Nursing Class Pinning Ceremony for Harford Community College’s associate degree nursing graduates was held on August 19 in the APGFCU Arena at Harford Community College. There were 21 graduates from the program in summer 2024.
The NJCAA announced its decision to discontinue women’s lacrosse as a sponsored sport, beginning with the 2024-25 academic year. The decision follows an announcement made the year prior for the Women’s Invitational to replace the National Championship, and a string of recent years with low participation from NJCAA member schools.
Gov. Wes Moore appointed David Jimenez to Harford’s Board of Trustees for a five-year term expiring June 30, 2029. Trustees Karen Holt and Steve Linkous were reappointed to the Board. Trustee Holt joined Jimenez at the swearing-in ceremony to renew her oath of office.
Harford Community College hosted eight local high school students for its innovative, grant-supported BIOTECH Pathways Summer Institute, held July 29-August 2.
Harford’s Geospatial Technology Program hosted a summer workshop on Geospatial Technology for middle and high school social studies teachers from Harford County Public Schools to gain resources for helping students build spatial thinking skills and knowledge about the world.
WHFC 91.1 FM Harford Community College Radio’s Ice Cream Fundraiser Night will be held on Thursday, September 5 at Jarrettsville Creamery and Deli, 1747 Jarrettsville Road.
The Harford Youth Orchestra (HYO) and Harford String Orchestra (HSO) will hold fall auditions on Saturday, August 24 by appointment only. Open to students in grades 6-12 who are serious about music, HYO and HSO provide a great learning and performing experience.
The Board of Trustees of Harford Community College will hold its regular monthly meeting on Tuesday, August 13, beginning at 6 PM. The meeting will be held in a hybrid format; employees and community members may join the meeting in person in Edgewood Hall, Room 132 or watch the meeting via the Internet.
Harford joined with Towson University in a partnership to create a seamless enrollment pathway for students to easily transfer to Towson University at Northeastern Maryland to pursue a bachelor's degree upon graduation, minimizing obstacles and the risk of credit loss.
Harford Dance Theatre will hold auditions for “The Nutcracker” on Saturday, August 17 at the Susquehanna Center Dance Studio. All roles are open. Performances of the perennial holiday favorite will be held December 6-8. Click “read more” below for audition details.
